This Privacy Policy describes how the Ragnarr iOS application, published by OrionHQ, handles your information. Short version: it doesn't. Ragnarr is a client app — it has no backend, no accounts, and no analytics.
We don't run a server. We don't collect, transmit or store any personal data. Everything Ragnarr knows about your homelab lives on your device, in the iOS Keychain.
1. Data we don't collect
Ragnarr does not collect, transmit, sell, share or process:
- your name, email address, phone number, IP address or device identifiers;
- analytics, telemetry, usage statistics or behavioral data;
- crash reports (see §6 for the optional TestFlight exception);
- the URLs, hostnames or contents of any service you connect to;
- your media library, queue contents, file names or metadata.
We have no servers, no databases, no third-party analytics SDKs and no advertising integrations. We literally cannot see anything you do in Ragnarr because there is nowhere for that data to go.
2. Data stored locally on your device
Ragnarr stores the following on your device only, never transmitted anywhere except directly to the servers you configure:
- iOS Keychain — your service URLs, API tokens and credentials, encrypted by iOS and gated behind biometric authentication when you enable it;
- UserDefaults — interface preferences such as accent theme, default sort order, language and notification choices;
- Local cache — short-lived in-memory cache of API responses, cleared when the App is closed.
Uninstalling the App removes all of the above.
3. Third-party connections
Ragnarr connects exclusively to the services you configure — Sonarr, Radarr, qBittorrent, SABnzbd, Prowlarr, Bazarr, Seerr, Tautulli, Portainer, Unraid, Jellyfin, Emby, or any compatible endpoint. These connections go directly from your device to your server: no data ever transits through OrionHQ infrastructure.
Each of those services has its own privacy practices, which are entirely outside our control. Please review their respective documentation. You are the data controller for any data those services hold on your behalf.
4. No accounts, no servers, no cloud sync
Ragnarr has no sign-up flow. There is no Ragnarr account. There is no Ragnarr cloud sync. If you want your settings on a second device, you re-enter them on that device.
5. Permissions Ragnarr may request
- Local Network — required to reach LAN URLs you configure (e.g.
192.168.1.x). iOS prompts you the first time. - Face ID / Touch ID — optional, used solely to unlock the App and protect Keychain credentials.
- Notifications — optional, used solely to surface events from your services (download finished, service down).
6. Crash reports
Ragnarr ships with no crash-reporting SDK. The only crash data we may ever receive is the standard, anonymous, opt-in crash diagnostics that you may share with developers via Apple TestFlight or via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share With App Developers. Disabling that toggle in iOS prevents any data from ever reaching us.
7. Children's privacy (COPPA)
Ragnarr is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children — nor, indeed, from anyone. If you believe a child has somehow provided us personal data (we cannot imagine how, but) please contact us and we will investigate.
8. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Because we do not collect or process personal data, there is generally nothing for us to access, rectify, port or delete on your behalf. You may at any time delete all data stored locally by uninstalling the App. If you have any concern about your rights under the GDPR, the CCPA or any equivalent regulation, contact our DPO below.
9. Changes to this Policy
If we ever change how Ragnarr handles data — we don't plan to, but the world moves — we will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, surface an in-app notice before the change takes effect.
